महाराष्ट्राचे उपमुख्यमंत्री आणि अर्थमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी राज्याच्या अर्थसंकल्पात ९ मार्च रोजी (महाराष्ट्राचा अर्थसंकल्प 2023-2024) अनेक घोषणा केल्या आहेत. यामध्ये एसटीने प्रवास करणाऱ्या महिलांना प्रवास तिकिटाच्या भाड्यात ५० टक्के सवलत देण्याची घोषणा करण्यात आली. अखेर या आदेशाचा जीआर जारी करण्यात आला असून शुक्रवारपासून (१७ मार्च) एसटी महामंडळाच्या बसमधून प्रवास करणाऱ्या महिलांना तिकीट दरात ५० टक्के सवलत दिली जाणार आहे. एसटी महामंडळाची ही योजना महिला सन्मान योजना म्हणून ओळखली जाणार आहे.
राज्य शासन एसटी महामंडळाच्या माध्यमातून समाजातील विविध घटकांना ३३ टक्के पासून १०० टक्के पर्यंत प्रवासी तिकीट दरात सवलत देते. यापूर्वी स्वातंत्र्याच्या अमृतमहोत्सवा निमित्त राज्य शासनाने ७५ वर्षे पूर्ण झालेल्या ज्येष्ठांना एसटीच्या सर्व प्रकारच्या बसेस मधून ” मोफत ” प्रवासाची सवलत जाहीर केली होती. तसेच ६५ ते ७५ वर्षाच्या ज्येष्ठांना एसटीच्या सर्व प्रकारच्या बसेस मधून तिकीट दरात ५० टक्के सवलत देण्याची घोषणा केली होती. त्यानुसार या दोन्ही घटकांना एसटीच्या प्रवासी भाइयात सवलत दिली जाते. सदर सवलतीची प्रतिपुर्ती रक्‍कम शासनाकडून महामंडळाला प्राप्त होत आहे.
MSRTC अधिकार्‍यांनी सांगितले की, या योजनेचा किती महिलांना फायदा होईल हे ठरवणे कठीण आहे कारण ते पूर्वी Male-Female तिकिटे जारी करत नव्हते. MSRTC ला अपेक्षा आहे की महिला प्रवाशांची लोकसंख्या तिच्या एकूण बस वापरकर्त्यांपैकी 35-40% च्या श्रेणीत असावी, असे ते म्हणाले.
MSRTC कडे 15,000 हून अधिक बसेस आणि फेऱ्यांचा ताफा दररोज 50 लाखांहून अधिक प्रवासी आहे. हे आता विविध सामाजिक गटांना तिकिटांवर 33% ते 100% सवलत देते.
The Maharashtra state government has announced a 50% discount on all types of bus tickets for women in its budget for 2023-24. The plan is being implemented from March 17, 2023, for all buses operated by the State Transport Corporation. The scheme will be known as the “Mahila Sanman Yojana” at the level of the State Transport Corporation. The reimbursement for this scheme will be provided by the government to the corporation.
The state government provides discounts ranging from 33% to 100% on travel tickets for various sections of society through the State Transport Corporation. Previously, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of independence, the state government had announced free travel for senior citizens on all types of buses operated by the corporation. Additionally, a 50% discount was announced for all senior citizens between the ages of 65 and 75. Both of these initiatives were also reimbursed by the government to the corporation.
